The Eucharist is of such importance in our lives as a faithful people that the Second Vatican Council states that the Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life.” The preparation for this sacrament begins in January and culminates with parish wide celebrations in May at each worship site.
The sacramental preparation involves home and parish sessions. Preparation is based on readiness on the part of the child and a commitment from the family to adequately prepare the participant for this special sacrament. Classes are held during the months of February through May on four Thursdays, with additional preparation done at home. The children are instructed by catechists and the Faith Formation Coordinators, while parents meet with Margaret Ostromecki. Sacraments are the heart of our faith journey and preparation is most important.
