The Tuesday morning knit and crochet group has taken their annual summer hiatus, but, fear not, they will be back at it in the fall. Many of the members also continue their creative endeavors throughout the summer months as well. The knitters were very busy this year and made a total of 379 pieces that were donated to many different agencies including: migrant workers in Newark, Birth Right, Mary's Place, House of Mercy, and Bethany House, just to name a few. The items that were donated included hats, scarves, and mittens for women and children, as well as blankets, shawls, lap robes, neck warmers and washcloths.
If you are interested in joining this talented, fun group of women (men are welcome too!) on Tuesday mornings beginning in September, please call Beth Watkins at 244-6976.
The group is always accepting donations of yarn. It will certainly be put to good use!
