The Mitten Tree Christmas Collection will be different this year to maintain safe practices while we gather the gifts for the recipients of our annual giving event. The agencies that we’ve supported for many years, Catholic Charities, Rochester Psychiatric Center, Bethany House and the Andrew’s Center are all grateful for remembering them again this year.

There are 3 ways to participate in the Mitten Tree this year:

Shop on your own

• Select a person from the list of Mitten Tree wishes

• Mittens will be available for sign up at the church entrances on the weekend of 11/28, 11/29

• A list of Mitten items will be available on the parish website or by calling 309-6950 or 271-1671 to claim a mitten (please verify the mitten is still available before you go shopping)

  LIST OF MITTEN ITEMS

• Drop the gift off at either church site (during mass time) or at Queen of Peace office (during business hours). If you are unable to get to church, call and we’ll arrange to pick up the present. Please be sure to label the gift with the recipient’s name. Gifts for Catholic Charities should be wrapped, Rochester Psychiatric Center gifts should be returned unwrapped.

Shop from the on line registry

• Select the gift(s) from the registry and the order and select the Queen of Peace address for the shipping address

Use a volunteer shopper

• We have parishioners who have volunteered to go shopping for those who aren’t able to get out to stores.

• You can specify a specific mitten recipient and/or an amount to spend, we’ll do the shopping and present you with the receipt for reimbursement.  Call 309-6950 or 271-1671 to arrangement to use a volunteer shopper

The Mitten Lists will be available for sign up at the church entrances on the weekend of 11/28 & 11/29, sent out via Flocknotes and posted on the Parish website.

We are asking that all gifts are returned to church as soon as possible and no later than December 13th so we can get the presents delivered to the agencies. If you find that you are unable to get the present, please call 309-6950 or the parish office so we can make other arrangements for that Mitten.

Notes on the gifts:

• The gifts for the Catholic Charities recipients should be returned WRAPPED. The items listed are from their client’s wishlist. It is not necessary to purchase all the items on the mitten.

• The gifts for Rochester Psychiatric Center should be returned UNWRAPPED.

• Please include the Mitten # and Recipient ID/Name with the gift to help with the sorting of the gifts for delivery.
