Offered most weeks from September-May
Beginning in September, children may hear an age-appropriate proclamation of God's Word and participate in an interactive reflection. The children explore the Scripture on their own level and then return to celebrate the liturgy of the Eucharist. Adult and teen volunteers are needed to help at the 9:15am Sunday Mass (Our Lady Queen of Peace) and 10:30 am (St. Thomas More). Teaching materials and supplies are provided.
Families with children and all who come to worship are urged to actively participate at Mass. Children may sign up as greeters, lectors, altar servers and gifts bearers during the scheduled liturgies. The homily or the reflection on the readings is geared toward the children. This liturgy offers a wonderful opportunity for our young members to be more fully engaged in worship.
Youth in grades 3-8 (younger by special permission) are invited to join us to help lead the musical prayer at Mass. Choir alternates singing between churches. Choir practices several times before each Mass that they will sing.
