The Catholic Family Center is in need of fabric face masks. With the CDC and New York State requiring everyone to use a mask in public, their need has doubled. The current goal is 800 masks and this may increase as they hear from more of their senior and medically fragile community members in need.
Masks can be dropped off at OLQP in a basket next to the office door. The exterior door will be open from 9 am - 3 pm Monday - Friday. Any mask pattern is fine, you can use elastic or ties.
Marcus Ebenhoe, Director of Advocacy and Parish Social Ministry at the Catholic Family Center, writes a thank you note to those who have already donated masks which we have reprinted here:
"We have been absolutely blown away by the response we’ve received from the community to our call for help with masks! It has been humbling and inspiring to see how much people want to help in any way they can. The number of people who either volunteered or spread the word to others who could, has made this successful. We have people from all over the country making masks for us, showing both us and those we serve love and appreciation. Of our original 400 mask goal, we have collected over 500 masks!!!"
Thank you to all within our parish who have so generously donated their time, talent and treasure to Catholic Family Center during this time.
