The Eastman Brass Guild will be presenting an evening reflection on Saturday, March 29 at 7:30pm at Saint Thomas More Church. The repertoire for this program draws upon all things French. Featured works include spirited and gracious dance music of the Renaissance, the solemn Liturgical Fanfares of Henri Tomasi, tuneful French folksongs played by a tuba quartet(!), a famous fanfare by Paul Dukas and two pieces by Lili Boulanger, a talented composer who lost her life to terminal illness just before her 25th birthday. Of special interest will be Boulanger’s joyous setting of Psalm 24. We hope you can join us in the beautiful acoustic of Saint Thomas More for a wide-ranging evening of solemnity, contemplation, exuberance and joy!
